Part Time Openings
News Anchor/Reporter
Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation is currently interviewing candidates for a part-time news anchor/reporter position. The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills, and news writing experience. Radio experience is a plus, but not necessary. News anchors broadcast live news and record newscasts for 94KX, 100.9 The Valley, Eagle 107, Newsradio 1070 WKOK, and Talkradio 1380 WMLP. Reporting involves working in the newsroom, gathering news from a wide variety of sources, writing news stories, editing, posting online news, shooting and editing video, and using social media. Field reporting entails traveling to meetings, activities and events, and writing news stories, gathering audio and video interviews. Evening and weekend work is required. Candidates must be familiar with Microsoft Word, WordPress and multiple social media platforms. Part Time Promotions Assistants
The perfect candidates will be very fun, outgoing and energetic people with dynamic personalities and very flexible schedules. The position will require that you interact with our listeners at our live broadcasts and appearances. Good working knowledge of audio equipment is a plus, although we’ll train. Internships
Sports Interns
Are you into Friday Night Lights? We are looking for interns that love football and would be interested in working in the broadcast booth this fall. Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation covers the local football games of Shikellamy, Lewisburg, Milton and Selinsgrove High Schools. We need someone who is enthusiastic about football and is interested in learning the ins and outs of play-by-play and color broadcasting. In addition, this person will help do stats for the games, and other duties as requested. The internship position is for a minimum of 10 weeks starting in late August. News Interns
Do you consider yourself a news hound? Do you like digging into a story? We are looking for news interns who are interested in writing news, covering meetings, and learning about the on-air news process. Sales Interns
Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation is currently interviewing candidates for a Sales Intern. This is a great opportunity for someone who is energetic, organized and a team player!
Duties include and are not limited to:
Prospect for New Business.
Monitor competitive media.
Organize and participate in remotes, station promotions, and client functions.
Assist Sales Team with client presentations.
Create and maintain station marketing materials.
Manage databases and spreadsheets containing sales data to maintain sales growth.
Process traffic and copy instructions for clients when Account Executives are unavailable.
Communicate with station clients and handle their requests as needed.
Attend weekly sales meetings.
